Mounting & Drymounting

The core of an archival custom framed piece is the mounting of the art. Some displays, such as art contests and 4-H fairs only require basic matting and mounting for art. The diagram on the right illustrates the t-hinge method we most commonly use. We use 100% cotton rag ARTCARE mounting and mat boards. We also provide drymounting, canvas stretching, and shrink wrapping services.

Drymounting is recommeded for replaceable photographs and rolled posters. This method involves attaching the piece to the backing board using a heat-activated adhesive film. This method is typically permanent, but ensures the piece will lay absolutely flat.
